Warwick — Financial Advisor Edward Lynch, who recently retired from the U.S. Army Reserve with the rank of lieutenant colonel, is supporting the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Lynch is using his Edward Jones financial services office as a drop-off location for this year’s Toys for Tots drive. Local residents are encouraged to help needy children in this area by bringing in a new, unwrapped toy to the Edward Jones office at 77 Ronald Reagan Boulevard during regular business hours until Tuesday, Dec. 20. The office is adjacent to the WTBQ Radio studio just off Kings Highway and near Merchant Square. As explained on its Web site, the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity is the fund raising, funding and support organization for the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The Foundation was created at the behest of the U. S. Marine Corps and provides support in accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding with the Commander, Marine Forces Reserve, who directs the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The Foundation has supported Toys for Tots since 1991. The mission of the “Toys for Tots” program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. “This is the season of giving,” said Lynch, “and now is a great time to remember the less fortunate in our community.” The Edward Jones web site is located at www.edwardjones.com To contact the Warwick office call 987-7720.
