Warwick - This year’s candidates for the one open seat on the Albert Wisner Public Library Board of Trustees represent a powerful combination of experience and fresh ideas. Dr. Wayne Rossi is running for re-election. He has served on the Library Board since 2006. He currently serves as Vice president of the board and sits on the library’s building committee. He was instrumental in not only the planning and construction of the new library, but also in the post construction maintenance and upkeep of the facility. “As the learning and communications environment continues to change, our library will need to adapt,” Rossi said in a press release sent out by the library. He said he would “like to be a presence that the community and library staff can trust in when leadership is needed.” Rossi has lived and worked in Warwick for the past 29 years. Richard Kazman is a retired New York City Police captain with 27 years of service. He volunteers at the library, spending his time cleaning large and popular collection of DVDs and music CDs. “A library should be a meeting place for young and old and should infuse learning as well as listening to the wants and needs of its members,” Kazman said in the press release. “It must be constantly updating its information.” He has lived in the library district for 10 years. “Library Board Members are the unsung heroes of our library’s success in the community,” said Library Director Rosemary Cooper. “Without their selfless dedication and tireless commitment we would not be in the position we are today with a beautiful new facility and the ability to serve all the members of our community with 21st century resources.”
