Donate blood and receive Nets tickets
GOSHEN, NY - Anyone who donates whole blood or platelets at Community Blood Services’ Goshen donor center on Saturday, December 2nd will receive two complimentary tickets to a NJ Nets basketball game. In addition, all donors will be eligible to win a pair of tickets to a NJ Devils hockey game. Community Blood Services is a not-for-profit organization that provides blood and blood products to 38 hospitals in New York City and Orange and Rockland counties in New York State, as well as in northern New Jersey. All blood types are needed to ensure the needs of the patients at those hospitals can be met during the upcoming holiday season. Types O negative and O positive are especially needed since Type O is the universal blood type and can be transfused in the event of an emergency. Donors can donate at the Goshen center, located at located at 7 Coates Drive, Suite 5, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please call (845) 294-3362 to make an appointment to donate. Walk-ins are welcome but an appointment is needed to donate platelets. Whole blood donors must be 17 (16 with parental permission) to 75 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. Donors also receive a complimentary cholesterol screening.
