Alverno Center and Schervier Pavilion, are recipients of the Bon Secours Dedicated Service Award. Motejl and Ernhout were among 11 campus employees, nominated by their peers to receive the award, who were honored at a recent Bon Secours reception held at the Harbor Court Marriott in Baltimore, Md. Motejl has been a member of the St. Anthony Community Hospital nursing staff for 30 years. During that time she has served as medical surgical staff nurse, nurse supervisor, and currently as nursing care coordinator and nurse manager for the ICU/CCU department. Motejl is a member of the quality improvement team, and chairs the patient care and nursing practice committees. She encourages staff members to further their clinical education by organizing special in-services, and participates in continuous learning experiences herself. She is ACLS and EKG strip interpretation certified, and has overseen the installation of new cardiac monitor systems, telemetry systems, and PRISM equipment. Motejl’s activities extend beyond the hospital walls into the community, as a volunteer for functions such as Applefest, Cancer Walk, Women’s Health Fair, Children’s Health Fair, blood pressure clinics, Holy Trail, employee picnics, Holiday Basket drives, Heat Days and the Employee Health Fair. While her children were in school, she participated in bake sales for school causes, volunteered for Little League, Warwick Soccer, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and ski teams. Susan Ernhout, assistant director of dietary services, has been a member of the Warwick Healthcare Campus since 1975. She is involved with maintaining and improving both the dietary and social needs of the residents and staff. Throughout her tenure, she improved departmental procedures, stepped in as interim director when needed, and was instrumental in the orientation of the new department director. Ernhout has participated in community events such as Apple Fest, Meals on Wheels, and the Christmas Winding through Warwick tour. She has assisted at director’s meetings, Good Help Trio Recognition Luncheons, the employee picnic, Nurse’s Day Celebration, Hospital Week, daily meals and barbecues for the residents and their families at the long term care facilities. As well, she has participated in American Heart Association and American Cancer Society events.
