Curfew imposed for Halloween
Warwick Kids under 18 will have to be off the streets of Warwick on Monday and Tuesday nights beginning at 8 p.m., as a curfew will be enforced throughout the town and village of Warwick. The curfew runs from 8 p.m. on Monday night through 6 a.m. on Tuesday. And again on Halloween night, Tuesday, from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Wednesday. Children under 18 are not allowed in any public areas within the town, including parks. This has been the case in the past several years, as town and village officials try to keep the peace on the nights that traditionally bring out teenagers looking for some mischief. The police presence and the imposed curfew have had much to do with the lack of incidence in the past few years. Patrols have been stepped up throughout the town, especially in areas where many kids trick-or-treat, namely Homestead Village and Cascade Creek. The Village of Florida will have the same curfew as the town and village of Warwick. No one under the age of 18 will be allowed in any public places on Monday, October 30, and Tuesday October 31, from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day. The Village of Greenwood Lake is instituting a curfew throughout the weekend. Beginning tonight, Friday, and going through the weekend, Monday and Tuesday, no one under 18 is allowed on public property in the village from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
