Goshen — Two Warwick residents were killed Nov. 8 in a three-car accident on Route 17A in Goshen, just north of Quarry Road. According to State Police Inspector Ron Colgan, a 2004 Volvo driven by Heather Pargeter Lipman, 74, of Warwick, was headed north toward Goshen when it crossed over the double-yellow line into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2011 Chrysler minivan driven by John Minturn, 86, also of Warwick. After the collision, both vehicles came to rest on the shoulder of the lane they were traveling in, the police said. A third vehicle following behind the Chrysler minivan and driven by Rachel Bessler, 23, also of Warwick, braked and turned to avoid the accident. The minivan came to a stop against the Volvo. Bessler was not injured. Lipman and Minturn were declared dead at the scene. An accident reconstruction team was at the scene later in the day and the investigation is ongoing. - Virginia Privitar
