Cops seize 40 pot plants from Blooming Grove field

    Blooming Grove - The State Police Aviation Unit based at Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, last week located a patch of marijuana plants in a wooded area just off Craigville Road in the Town of Blooming Grove. According to a press release from State Police at Monroe, the aviation unit then notified the Mid-Hudson Drug Enforcement Task Force. The task force, working with State Police BCI in Monroe and the Town of Blooming Grove Police conducted a one-week investigation before seeking a search warrant from Blooming Grove Town Justice Steven Smith for the property and residence located at 922 Craigville Road in the Town of Blooming Grove. On Sept. 6, the search warrant was executed. Police said they found about 40 mature marijuana plants, averaging three to four feet tall. Police charged Todd Lemin, 37, of 922 Craigville Road, Blooming Grove, was charged with first-degree criminal possession of marijuana. He was released on bail to reappear in the Town of Blooming Grove Court at a later date.
