    bayonets and heroin in Goshen house Goshen — A resident of Middle Street in Goshen reported on Monday, Aug. 1, that his window had been shot out the night before. An investigation by the Village of Goshen Police Department found that the shot had come from a residence across the street, at 26 Middle St. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest on Aug. 2 of Sean M. Weissert, 22, of 83 Scotchtown Place, Middletown, for third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, all misdemeanors. The investigation concluded that Weissert accidentally discharged one round from an AK-47 rifle while he was examining it. Police said the rifle belonged to the resident at 26 Middle St., Shane W. Miller. Weissert was arraigned before Village Justice Thomas Cione and sent to Orange County Jail on $5,000 bail pending an Aug. 4 court appearance. With the assistance of the Orange County District Attorney's Office, a search warrant was obtained for 26 Middle St. Seized from Miller's residence were the AK-47 assault rifle and three high-capacity magazines each containing 30 rounds; nine handguns, including a loaded 38 caliber Taurus revolver; 24 long guns, including rifles, shotguns and assault rifles; more than 1,000 rounds of various ammunition, clips, magazines and bandoliers; 17 knives and bayonets; one electronic stun gun; one night vision scope; numerous fireworks; 29 bags of heroin street-valued at $600; and a quantity of marijuana. A felony arrest warrant charging third-degree criminal possession of a weapon has been issued for Miller, a white male of average height and build with close cropped brown hair and brown eyes. His date of birth is Sept. 21, 1981. He may be operating a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am two-door sedan bearing New York registration DFD6862. Police said Miller may be armed with a firearm.
