Cooperative Extension offers family support groups

    Central Valley — Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Relatives as Parents Program is currently offering three Coffee and Conversation Support Groups, which are aimed at assisting grandparents and other family members who have taken on the role of primary caregiver for related children. A RAPP 4-H youth group is offered at the same time, for children 6 and older. Free childcare is offered for children 5 and younger, with age-appropriate games and toys. RAPP offers Coffee and Conversation Support Groups at three sites: • Central Valley Central Valley Elementary School First Thursday of the month Feb. 1, March 1, April 12, May 3 & June 7 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. RAPP 4-H Youth Development for youth 6 and older Childcare for children 5 and younger • Middletown Cornell Cooperative Extension First Tuesday of the month Feb. 6, March 6, April 3, May 1 & June 5, 2007 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. RAPP 4-H Youth Development for youth 6 and older Childcare for children 5 and younger • Newburgh Independent Living, 5 Washington Terrace, Newburgh Second Tuesday of the month Feb. 13, March 13, April 10, May 8 & June 12 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. RAPP 4-H Youth Development for youth 6 and older Childcare for children 5 and younger For more information or to register contact RAPP Coordinator, Brenda Reynolds, at 845-344-1234.
