Congressmen Hinchey and Hall to speak at County Chamber Of Commerce luncheon
Newburgh The Orange County Chamber of Commerce will host a special luncheon featuring U.S. Reps. Maurice Hinchey and John Hall as the guest speakers on Monday, March 5. The topic for discussion will be “The New Agenda in Washington, D.C.” The luncheon will begin at 11:45 a.m. at Anthony’s Pier 9 in Newburgh and will be sponsored by the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union. Hinchey, the Democrat representing New York’s 22 Congressional District, was first elected to the House of Representatives in November 1992, after serving 18 years in the New York State Assembly. Currently, he sits on the House Appropriations Committee and its subcommittees on Agriculture and the Interior. Newly elected to New York’s 19th Congressional District in November, Hall, also a Democrat, is a musician and small business owner who has lived most of his life in the Hudson Valley. “We’ve asked our congressmen to update the business community on the first 100 days in Washington,” said Dr. John A. D’Ambrosio, Chamber President. “Washington is very different in 2007 and the business community is eager to stay on top of the issues.” Reservations are $30 for members (in advance) and $50 for non-members. They can be made by calling the Chamber office at 845-567-6229, visiting www.orangeny.com or by e-mailing maryjanek@orangeny.com.
