Conference to emphasize developments in latest employee relations legislation
Newburgh The Orange County Chamber of Commerce, and the Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, will present the 19th annual Human Resources Conference at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23 at the Ramada Inn at 1289 Union Ave. in Newburgh. “Preventive Strategies for Changing Times” will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m., and include lunch at noon. The conference is designed for supervisors, managers, human resource and business office professionals and owners, of any size business, who need to stay up-to-date on the ever-changing field of labor law and employee relations. This seminar will focus on practical workplace issues that every business must address on a day-to-day basis. It will not be a repeat of previous seminars, but will emphasize new developments in employee relations law. Attorneys from the national labor and employment law firm of Jackson Lewis will provide step-by-step guidance on how to identify legal vulnerabilities and potential liabilities. Participants will also learn how to use proven preventive practices to avoid litigation and employee relations problems.
