New Paltz — The Science Teachers Association of New York State has assembled a group of speakers to talk about global warming from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Coykendall science building at the campus of the State University of New York at New Paltz. The conference, titled “Watch Your Step! Leaving Your Ecological Footprint,” will take a look at what Americans are doing to the environment as a country and as individuals, and how to change attitudes and behavior. “With all of our expertise, ingenuity, and wherewithal we should be leading the world in changes to ensure the life or our planet,” said Patty Sherman, a former teacher at Goshen Central School. Keynote speakers Len and Susan Sharp were trained on “The Climate Project.” Participants can choose from 20 different breakout sessions, which include something for everyone of every age. While certain sessions are geared for teachers, many are suitable for anyone interested in learning more about energy solutions, energy conservation, and weather changes, among many other subjects.
