Community Center to host Warwick Town Fair this Sunday
Warwick The Warwick Valley Community Center will host the Warwick Town Fair from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3, at 11 Hamilton Ave. The fair will feature lots of activities for kids: kiddie rides, face-painting, story telling, magic and a puppet theater. For young and older alike, two stages will showcase the Warwick area’s talented musicians. Music and events on the outdoor stage will kick off at 1 p.m. with the teen rock trio, The Midnight Runaways. Marty Kupersmith, an original member of Jay and the Americans, will perform pop standards, rock and country. Stretch Armstrong and Captain Fantastic (aka Peter Holmgren and Jeremy Langdale) will perform on the mandolin and guitar while singing vocal harmonies. They will be followed by folk/rock singer Rebel Red; guitarist Charles Lyonheart; and acoustic rock duo, Robbie Valentine and Peter Styka. Tae Kwon Do demonstrations by United Martial Arts Centers will be held. And the judges of the Fruit Pie Baking Contest will announce winners and present ribbons at around 2:30 p.m. At 2 p.m. an historical presentation on the Town of Warwick will lead off events on the indoor stage. Warren Sirota and fellow jazz musicians will perform at around 4 p.m. There will be demonstrations for persons interested in taking up Tae Kwon Do, ballroom dancing or Iyengar yoga.
