Community center offers teen fun

    Warwick —The Warwick Valley Community Center's "Summer Solutions to Teen Violence" offers a variety of free programs for young people in grades 6 through 12. On Friday, August 5, starting at 7 p.m., a "Decades of Dance" party will feature music of the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. Teens can dress to represent their favorite decade and bring their favorite dance party music. On Thursday, August 11, at 6 p.m., duct tape master Julian Hong will conduct a workshop on using duct tape to create clothes, wallets, and accessories. Other upcoming events: Friday, August, 12 n Giant Softball game beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, August 18 n West African Drumming Workshop with Chris Jaquin Friday, August, 19 n DJ Dance party Saturday, August 20 n Trip to Rye Playland. Reservations and permission slips required. Thursday, August, 25 n Counselor and CIT party from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, August, 26 n Big Local Band Show 7 to 11 p.m. The Warwick Valley Community Center is located at 11 Hamilton Ave. at the Doc Fry Building.
