MIDDLETOWN — Community Bank of Orange has appointed Anthony Russo as assistant vice president and commercial loan officer. The fourth commercial loan officer at the bank, he will be offering commercial loans, lending to builders, and providing commercial mortgages and commercial lines of credit. “Anthony hails from Warwick, which will compliment the new Warwick branch we anticipate opening in May,” said Ron Gentile, president and CEO. A ten year veteran of the banking industry, Russo commented, “I have a lot to offer in commercial bank experience, knowledge of commercial loans and a great many contacts I made while I was at Provident Bank.” He also believes in the hometown banking approach. “The customers like the community bank atmosphere that the larger banks seem to have lost. People want to come in and touch a person.” Russo holds a juris doctorate from Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, Pa., and a bachelor of science in accounting from Fordham University in the Bronx, N.Y. He and his wife, Theresa, have a seven-year-old son Anthony, Jr. When Community Bank of Orange opened for business in the fall of 2002, it was the first bank to open in Orange County in 50 years, and the first ever to open in the Town of Wallkill.
