College notes: News of graduations and dean's lists
The following items include news of the achievements of area students at their colleges and universities: Rachel Peterson, the daughter of David and Julie Peterson of Westtown, has received a bachelor’s degree in music performance during commencement exercises at Gordon College in Wenham, Mass. Peterson is a 2002 graduate of Warwick Valley High School. While at Gordon College, she was a resident advisor and a participant in the Elijah Project, an honors program. After graduation, she will live in Brookfield, Conn. Joseph Davies, son of Dwight and ReeAnne Davies of Warwick, earned bachelor’s degrees in finance and business administration from Gordon College in Wenham, Mass. Davies is a 2002 graduate of Warwick Valley High School. While at Gordon College, he was the executive vice president of finance for the Gordon College Student Association and was a member of the Economics and Business Club. He also was a member of the Gordon College choir. After graduation, he will be working either for New England Financial in Boston or Merrill Lynch in New York. Kate Conti, Elizabeth Niemann and Breanne Tempe of Greenwood Lake graduated in the 75th Anniversary Class of 2006 from Berkeley College. Conti obtained a degree in fashion marketing and management, Niemann a degree in paralegal studies and Tempe a degree in business administration, information systems management. Antonia L Rossi of Warwick was named to the highly distinguished honors list for the spring 2006 semester at the College of Charleston. Highly distinguished honors are awarded to students enrolled in at least 14 credit hours who have maintained a grade point ratio between 3.8 and 4.0. Ashley J. Tanzosh of Warwick, a sophomore majoring in psychology, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2006 semester at Georgia Southern University. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must have at least a 3.50 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours for the semester. Susan J. Paffenroth, the daughter of David and Wendy Paffenroth of Pine Island, was named to the spring 2006 dead’s list at East Tennessee State University with a 4.0 GPA. Paffenroth, a 1999 graduate of Warwick Valley High School, is studying public health and patient education. Kelly Lynne Haviland of Florida was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2005 semester at the State University of New York at Fredonia. To be eligible, a students must have a grade point average of at least 3.30 or higher for the semester, out of a possible 4.0, while carrying a full-time minimum course load of at least 12 credit hours. Daniel F. Lendzian of Warwick also was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2005 semester at the State University of New York at Fredonia.
