College notes

Dean’s list Beatrice Arner of Warwick has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester at Hofstra University in Hempstead. Beatrice graduated from Warwick Valley High School in June 2011 and is a journalism major. She is the daughter of Thomas and Christine Arner of Warwick.

Patrick Mulrooney, a 2011 graduate of Warwick Valley High School, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester at St. John’s University in Queens with a GPA of 3.8. Patrick is a sports management major.

Carly Ramos of Warwick has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Hartwick College in Oneonta. To qualify, a student must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Carly is a senior majoring in nursing. She is the daughter of Anne and Wilbert Ramos/, has been named to the fall term Dean’s List at Hartwick.

Mark Annunziato, a member of the class of 2012 from Warwick, has been named to the fall 2011 dean’s list at Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore. To qualify, a student must have a GPA of at least 3.5 with a minimum of 15 credits.

Lucas Groneman of Warwick has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Students named to the dean’s list have completed 15 semester hours and earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better.

Casey M. Abribat of Warwick has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester at St. Lawrence University in upstate Canton. To be eligible, a student must have completed at least four semester units and have an academic average of 3.6 (based on a perfect 4.0 scale) for the semester. Casey, a member of the class of 2013, is a graduate of Warwick Valley High School.

Kalen Eriksson of Florida has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham, located in Madison, N.J. To qualify, a student must carry a 3.5 or better grade point average out of a possible 4.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 letter-graded hours (four courses).

Brandon Cantelmo, a sophomore accounting major from Warwick, has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester at Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I.

Amber Mosher of Warwick has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester at Caldwell College in Caldwell, N.J.

Brandon Porkka has been named to the honor roll for the fall 2011 semester at Rockland Community College in Suffern with a GPA of 3.8. He is a Business Marketing/Advertising major as well as a member of Alpha Beta Gamma, which is an international business honor society. Brandon is a 3005 graduate of Warwick Valley High School; he also was a member of the Warwick MCC Acting Club for three years during high school.

Corrine B. Feagles of Greenville was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester at SUNY Orange. To qualify, a full time student must earn a “B” average (or higher) for the semester. Corrine is the granddaughter of Ken and Estella Youngman of Warwick.

The following students were named to the dean’s list with high distinction for the fall 2011 semester at Grove City College in Grove City, Pa.:

Arielle Goyzueta, a senior elementary education major. She is a 2008 graduate of Goshen High School and is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Juan Goyzueta from Florida.

Courtney Steiginga, a junior marketing management major. She is a 2009 graduate of Hawthorne Christian Academy and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Steiginga from Warwick.

Students eligible for the dean’s list have a GPA of 3.40 to 3.59; for the dean’s list with distinction a GPA of 3.6 to 3.84 and for the dean’s list with high distinction a GPA of 3.85 to 4.00.

Honorees must earn a grade point average of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale, while completing 12 or more credit hours of classes during the semester.

Awards, programs, honors Daniel Johnson of Warwick, a senior at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, has been named a member of the college’s swimming and diving team for the 2011-12 season. Johnson competes in Freestyle on the team.
