College news: graduations and dean's lists

    Warwick - The following is the latest information received by The Warwick Advertiser regarding the academic successes of local college students: •Former Warwick resident Linnea Theisen has been accepted into Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine in Tuskegee, Ala. Tuskegee offers a four-year program leading to the doctor of veterinary medicine. Theisen is a 1998 graduate of Warwick Valley High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 2002. She is presently employed as a veterinary technician in Raleigh, N.C., and will be moving to Alabama to pursue her career in veterinary medicine. She is the daughter of Louise and Peter Theisen of New Bern, N.C., also formerly of Warwick. •Kristen J. Reichardt has graduated magna cum laude from Bucknell University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. She majored in accounting with minors in math and French. She has accepted a position with PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York City. •Megan Jeanne Ahearn of Warwick, has graduated cum laude from the University of Delaware with a bachelor of arts from the College of Arts and Sciences. The following were named to the 2006 spring semester dean’s list at the University of Delaware where they achieved grade point averages of 3.33 or above on a 4.0 scale: •Megan Jeanne Ahearn of Warwick, a senior communication major in the College of Arts and Sciences. •Kelly Marie Balczuk of Warwick, a senior exercise science major in the College of Health Sciences. •Evan Roy Colon of Warwick, a junior criminal justice major in the College of Arts and Sciences. •Stefan Paul Katz of Warwick, a senior history education major in the College of Arts and Sciences. •Jennifer Culkin of Warwick, a freshman studying art education and graduate design at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, was named to the deans list for the fall 2005 and spring 2006 semesters. The following students were among 322 named to the spring 2006 dean’s list at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, where they maintained a minimum grade point index of 3.5 out of a possible 4.0: •Halina Dagele, Florida. •Jill Gerczak, Florida. •Michael Hoyt, Florida. •Daniel Cerkvenik, Warwick. •Victoria Pascal, Warwick. •Steven Zurlnick, Warwick. The following students at the University of Buffalo have been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester for achieving a grade-point average of 3.6 or higher: •Jamie R. Hersh of Florida. •Justin M. Oviedo of Warwick.
