Church youth group hosts successful dinner

New Milford/Edenville United Methodist Church Youth Group members relax after hosting the youth group’s “Dinner and A Movie” on Feb. 16, which marked the kickoff of the newly revitalized youth ministry. “All of the cooking and serving for the evening was done by the teens,” said Barry, the newly-appointed youth leader and a life-long member of the church which is celebrating its 170 anniversary this year. “It was their night, their gig,” No fee was set for dinner, although donations were accepted. ShopRite of Warwick donated all of the food. Dinner included a screening of “My Favorite Wife,” starring Cary Grant. One of the ministry’s goals is to bridge the gap between the older members of the church and the children, as they grow up through Sunday School and become productive members of the community.
