Church to hold 89th annual fair

    Sugar Loaf —The Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church will hold its 89th Annual Church Fair on Saturday, Sept. 10, rain or shine. The church's crafters work throughout the year making quilts, afghans, hand-knit sweaters, doll clothes, baby items, and rag rugs, as well as Christmas and Halloween decorations, toys for the children, and items for the home. Food for sale will include home-baked pies, breads, cakes, and cookies, plus a booth selling homemade candy, jams, and jellies. Hamburgers, hotdogs, and taco salad will be available at the snack bar. The fair also includes a white elephant booth and a raffle. Entertainment will be provided by the Penny Loafer Band. The fair opens at 10 a.m. with the traditional ringing of the bell and ends at 4 p.m. The church is located on Kings Highway. For more information, call 986-4557.
