An elite list of instructors and guest speakers addressed the crowd over the course of the week. Classes included such topics as forensic pathology given by pathologist, Dr. Michael Baden; a perspective of the criminal justice system given by Rep. Ted Poe of Texas, leadership; the growing problem of gangs; and a case study on a New York State mass murderer, Gary Evans. The training sessions were an opportunity for the chief law enforcement officers to obtain updated information. Several other guests were welcomed to the convention, including former Westchester County District Attorney Jeanine Pirro, who is the Republican candidate for State Attorney General this fall, as well as incumbent State Attorney General Elliot Spitzer, who is running for governor. On Thursday evening, Giudice was sworn in as the president of the association. Prior to his appointment to the role of President, Chief Giudice served as first vice president.
