BLOOMING GROVE — Det. Brett Weeden of the Blooming Grove police confirmed Thursday that a 24-year-old Chester man died when he was struck by a car early Tuesday morning. Jon Walsh was employed as a sanitation worker for Interstate Waste Services of Ramsey, N.J., and was struck and killed by a agency car driven by a federal officer, while Walsh was picking up recyclable material along Clove Road in Blooming Grove. According to Weeden, Walsh had crossed into the opposing lane of the road early Tuesday morning and was struck by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent’s car. Police believe Walsh didn’t see the oncoming car when he walked into the road. Walsh was pronounced dead at the scene. The agent driving the car was not ticketed, Weeden said.
