CHESTER — Chabad’s Youth Zone’s recent gathering at the Castle Fun Center in Chester included making get well cards for sick children in Shaarei Tzedek Children’s hospital in Jerusalem. The Youth Zone’s “Kids in Action” program is geared for kids age five to 12 and is focused toward helping various causes in Israel, officials said. A part of the program was having Highland Mills photographer Sigal Szuchman, film the children creating the cards. Afterward, each participant held up their card and delivered a personal message and good wishes to the children in the hospital. “I am from Israel, and my children were born here in the U.S.,” said Szuchman. “Chabad’s Kids in Action program is helping to bring my kids closer to their routes.” The video will be sent along with the cards for the receivers to see the group of children thinking of them. This mailing was sponsored by Monroe residents Henry and Samira Galler. To sign up for Kids in Action, call 782-2770; or e-mail to youthzone@ChabadOrange.com.
