‘Casinos And You' program

Goshen — Orange Environment and the Natural Resources Defense Council will sponsor “Casinos And You” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, at the Harness Racing Museum at 240 Main St. in Goshen. Developers have their eyes on the Monticello Raceway as the potential site of a Las Vegas-style casino resort. They say it will attract millions of visitors annually and solve the region’s economic woes. Orange Environment’s hearing will provide a chance to hear the down side of nearby casinos: how traffic would increase, the lack of proper environmental review, and how Orange County services and the environment would be affected.
