Calling young songwriters

Monroe Bob Barlow, musician and elementary school teacher in the Monroe-Woodbury School District, will be teaching two, week-long songwriting workshops for youth in his home during the week of July 10 to 14. The workshops include a morning session from 9 a.m. to noon for students 10 to 14 years old, and an afternoon session from 1 to 4 p.m. for students 15 to 18 years of age. The sessions will cover song structure, lyrics, melody and more, with the main focus on creativity and enjoyment. No previous musical skill is necessary. The cost is $125.
