Business notebook: Winter notes from Warwick

WARWICK - Trio Media Productions (TMP) of Warwick recently announced the release of the second CD in what it describes as its “Locally Grown” series. The new CD, an album entitled “Winter Notes from Warwick,” features the music of six talented artists, each with long-standing roots in the Warwick Valley. Included among the contributing artists are musicians Mike Baglione, Richard Kimball, Jamie Masefield, Bill Misener, Elizabeth Straton and her sisters Anne and Amy, and Jon Werking. The album cover features a winter landscape, “The Welling Farm,” by well-known New Milford artist, Bob Fletcher. “This is a project that we’ve wanted to do for some time” said TMP creative director Bill Misener. “There is so much real talent here in the Warwick area that, unfortunately, we are inclined to take it for granted. All one has to do is give Winter Notes a listen and you’ll see what I mean.” The first CD in the series, also titled “Locally Grown,” was produced earlier this year for the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development in connection with its visit to the Rogowski farm in Pine Island. That CD was a special collection of songs by Misener, a familiar figure at local veterans’ events where he often performs a song he wrote, “The Veteran’s Waltz.” Misener’s production credits include playing with Gordon Lightfoot, Keith Hampshire, Ian Tyson and Christopher Plummer. He has also served as a studio guitarist and singer on recordings by Duke Ellington, Anne Murray, Alice Cooper, Keith Hampshire and many other well-known entertainers. Winter Notes can be purchased at Newhard’s and other shops in the Warwick area.
