Business Notebook: Turning two and offering new fashions

WARWICK - After celebrating her second year in business, Jackie Sitro, owner of Jacqueline’s Boutique, 17 Main St., Warwick, would like to offer a selection of clothing and accessories at reasonable prices designed to encourage local residents to save gas this holiday season by conveniently doing all their shopping in Warwick. Recently, for example, she ordered a full line of pajamas and sleepwear by Karen Neuberger and PJ Salvage along with the latest fashions in socks and slippers in almost every size and color. Sitro also expanded her dress department to include three additional designer dresses and gowns. She is also offering a larger selection of unique evening bags, fashionable shoes, elegant shawls and capes along with all accessories for that special holiday occasion. And for the month of December, Jacqueline’s Boutique also will include free matching earrings with the purchase of any dress or gown. And don’t forget, the store also provides tuxedo rentals. “We can take care of all your needs for Christmas and New Year’s parties and other holiday events,” said Sitro. Jacqueline’s Boutique also features fine apparel lines from California along with the latest handmade and 100 per cent cotton sweaters from Rico. There is also a collection of handbags and scarves by award winning celebrity designer Mary Frances. Now open in Warwick Warwick residents Nirit Rechtman and Irit Goldman, both natives of Israel, first opened “Iriniri Design,” their “Galleries of Jewelry & Fine Craft” at Sugar Loaf in 1992. The store, which featured handcrafted jewelry and other unique gifts, was an immediate success and 10 years later; the owners opened a second “Iriniri Design” in Nyack. This past summer, when a prime location on Main Street, formerly home to The Bookstore, became available, Rechtman and Goldman seized the opportunity to open a third store in the Village of Warwick. “We always wanted to open a shop in our hometown,” said Rechtman. “At first we were not sure about doing this but when we saw the vacancy, we decided it was meant to be. And we hope to bring the best to this area.” In the past 14 years, Iriniri, which is a play on the owners’ first names, has increased in size well beyond that first two-person shop in Sugar Loaf. “We now have 12 people on our staff and we represent 78 artisans,” said Goldman. The owners are also both artisans and still design and craft their own jewelry from the unique stones they purchase on trips to the Southwest and to the Annual Gem Show in Arizona. The eclectic collection at Iriniri Design includes handcrafted jewelry, art, glass, Judaica, pottery and more. Most of the articles are made in the USA, but Rechtman and Goldman also travel to Israel, twice each year; to purchase special hand made items. Iriniri Design has also added a new collection of gold jewelry ranging from 14 k to 24 k items. The new Warwick store is open seven days from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with extended late hours during the Home for the Holidays season. Call 986-0881.
