Business Notebook: Renovations complete at Backyard Grill

Warwick - On Jan. 13, only about one month shy of its 10th anniversary, the Backyard Grill & Café, 31 Forester Ave., unveiled the results of extensive renovations and new construction that began last year. The popular eatery, owned by Warwick resident Bill Leech, is now almost twice as big and boasts a full service bar where patrons can sip frozen Margaritas, a specialty of the house, as well as any other mixed drink, wine or beer. Food service also is available at the bar and 25 more seats have been added to the restaurant. “With the extra room and seating capacity,” said Bill Leech, “we can now accommodate large parties and seat everyone at the same table.” Leech also reported that he had added an additional rest room and more parking spaces. And, in addition to the main entrance there is also a side entrance, which is accessible for people who require wheelchairs. And during warmer weather, the Backyard Grill will again offer outdoor seating. Although the facility has nearly doubled in size and there’s more parking, a new full-service bar and additional seating, Leach hasn’t changed the basic formula for the restaurant’s continued success. The menu still offers the eclectic grilled American specialties that patrons have enjoyed for the past 10 years. The Backyard Grill serves breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as take-out seven days each week plus a popular Saturday and Sunday brunch. The kitchen is open from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The bar will remain open later on most nights. Call 987-1822.
