WARWICK - Jackie Sitro, owner of Jacqueline’s Boutique, 17 Main St., Warwick, noticed something interesting that now occurs when the school busses pass by. “All the young ladies rush to the windows to stare at our window display,” said Sitro. She explained that her display now features a colorful selection of prom dresses for the big dances that are not far away. “The styles and colors of the dresses, this year, are fabulous,” she added. “And each girl can picture herself wearing one to a red carpet event.” Sitro invites everyone to stop by and see the large selection of new gown arrivals in the latest colors including rich corals, bubble gum pinks, true turquoises, lemon yellow, ice mint, cocoa brown and more. “We have the best prom dresses of 2007,” she said. “And every dress is registered so that no two girls will purchase the same dress.” That registration covers all schools in Orange County and Vernon, N.J. And Sitro advises girls who have something special in mind to make their selections early so they are not disappointed. In addition to prom dresses, Jacqueline’s Boutique offers hundreds of gowns for upcoming “Gala” events as well as the latest “mother of the bride/groom” gowns for 2007 along with a full line of evening bags and shoes to match any gown. The shop is also expanding its Brighton Collection of jewelry, handbags, sunglasses and accessories and this March, it will host a “Brighton Trunk Show.” Jacqueline’s Boutique is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and by special appointment. Call 987-9602 or visit www.shopjacquelinesboutique.com. Cabin fever On Saturday, Feb. 10, Frazzleberries, 24 Main St., celebrated its third annual “Cabin Fever Reliever Weekend and Clearance Event.” This year, the annual event served as an opportunity to premier the store’s spring 2007 Vera Bradley collection. Frazzleberries also offered substantial discounts on selected furniture home accessories and accent pieces, tables, shelves and hutches. During the celebration, shoppers were invited to enjoy in-store refreshments including treats from Lisa’s Cookie Shop, drawings, giveaways and other surprises. Full service As long as New Yorkers have to pay more for a gallon of gasoline than their New Jersey neighbors, they might at least enjoy the same full service. In the Village of Warwick, full service when you fuel your automobile has always been available at the Warwick Car Wash. And now, in Pine Island, DJs Service Station on County Route 1, is another station that allows you to sit warm and dry in your car while an attendant fills the tank. The station is open seven days each week from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and also offers automobile maintenance, repairs and New York State Inspection. Call 258-1909. Grand opening This Saturday, February 24, at 7 p.m., La Montiel Dance, 17 Main St., in the former space occupied by the Kid’s ClubHouse, will host its grand opening. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served and guests are encouraged to wear their dancing shoes. RSVP at 987-1770. La Montiel offers instruction in Argentine Tango, Mambo, Social Ballroom Dancing, Turkish Belly Dancing, Zumba and Salsa among others. More to follow in a future column. Time to pay your dues The Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce recently mailed out dues invoices to its members. “This also prompts ‘not-yet’ members to think about joining,” said Executive Director Linda Glohs. “So I like to remind businesses, especially independent proprietors, that the Chamber offers group health insurance, which lately seems to be more and more of an issue to small businesses.” Glohs also reminded members that the Chamber is always looking for people interested in joining its new committees, particularly the Programs committee and Ambassador committee.
