Business notebook: More families welcome

WARWICK - Last year Owen V. McShane, DDS, who has his family dentistry practice at 3 St. Stephen’s Lane in Warwick, literally ran out of space. “We reached a point,” he said, “where we could not see any new patients. It would not have been fair to our regular patients.” McShane’s practice had grown by leaps and bounds over the past 15 years but the facility he worked in had not kept pace. McShane, a graduate of Georgetown University Dental School, and his wife, Cheryl, moved to Warwick about 17 years ago. They have three children ages 8 to 14. And since that time the population of this area more than doubled. “We knew we had to do something with our office,” he said. This past October, the expansion and modernization of the St. Stephen’s Lane Professional Offices was completed and McShane and his increased staff moved into their brand new facility, which is three times the size of his original office. Dr. Ken Sandler, an orthodontist, also has his practice in the expanded facility. “Now we can welcome new patients and their families and schedule their appointments much sooner than before,” said McShane. “We also increased the number of people on our office staff along with an additional hygienist.” The new office, just off County 1 and near St. Stephen’s Elementary School, now has a larger and more comfortable waiting area, additional treatment rooms and upgraded equipment. McShane’s Family Dentistry offers a courtesy discount for seniors and provides all services including dental sealants for children.
