Warwick - In just a few weeks Rob and Nicole Repose will celebrate the first anniversary of their business, “Etched in Time Engraving,” at 58 Main St., Warwick. Last May the long time Orange County residents seized an opportunity to purchase Batz Trophies & Awards, which had been a landmark establishment in Warwick’s downtown business district. Since that time they have continued to offer engraved trophy and award products while expanding the storefront to feature a large selection of unique personalized engraved gifts. They can also order most items if you’re looking for something special. “We carry all sorts of gift ware including wedding and baby gifts as well as religious items,” said Nicole Repose. “And they can be engraved on the spot.” Before opening “Etched in Time Engraving” and in between raising their four children, ages three to 16, Rob and Nicole managed to acquire 15 years of business experience in both retail and corporate sales. “We listen carefully to our customers,” said Nicole, “and we try to stock the gift items that they most want.” “Etched in Time Engraving” is open Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can also visit their Web site at: www.etchedntime.com. Room for more antiques Jenna Field, owner of Jenna & Co., has been part of the Garage at the Eclectic Eye, a cooperative of antique dealers at 16-18 Railroad Ave., Warwick, since July 2003. Reflecting her personal passion for Eastern cultures, her shop has been a magnet for those interested in a selection of antiques and reproductions including Asian furniture and textiles, Moroccan mosaic tables, rustic painted farm stools and whimsical Chinese lanterns along with pottery, candles, pillows, brocade boxes, birdcages and Buddha heads. “And there’s something new arriving every week,” said Field who recently decided to increase the space she occupies to accommodate more furniture and other antiques. With the valuable assistance of Pam Durante Williams, an interior designer, Jenna & Co. has doubled in size. “I owe a special thanks to Pam for laying out the new space,” said Field. “I invite everyone to stop by and see what a great job she did.” Jenna & Co. is open every day each week and until 8:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Shabby Chic Heidi Seeley, owner of Victorian Treasures, 21 Main St., Warwick, recently unveiled her newest treasure, an entire room dedicated to “Shabby Chic” home décor and lace including lace shades and lace verticals. Shabby Chic is a design style using deliberately worn and deteriorated items to achieve an elegant overall effect. It is particularly popular in interior design where furniture and furnishings are either chosen for their age and signs of wear and tear or new items are distressed to look old. “We’ve added elegance to this room and we will do the same for the entire store,” said Seeley. The new room was formerly home to the store’s large collection of Boyd’s Bears. To reduce that inventory, the store is currently offering a two for one sale on the remaining Boyd’s Bears. Springfest 2006 is on Warwick’s annual celebration of Springfest will be held Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be no out-of-town vendors this year but participating local merchants on Railroad Ave. and Main Street will offer special sales to welcome everyone to the downtown business district. Popular musicians Sue Arnowitz and Mike Baglione will entertain visitors in the courtyard on Railroad Avenue. Not-for-profit organizations have been invited to participate and other entertainment is also being arranged. The rain date is Sunday, April 30.
