'Business Idol' highlight of expo

New Windsor — Orange County Chamber of Commerce's 20th annual EXPO business trade show will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Anthony's Pier 9, Route 9W South, New Windsor. A highlight will be the annual Orange County Business Idol competition. Small business owners will make short presentations about their businesses, competing for a grand prize worth thousands. CDPHP is the competition sponsor this year. Five corporate sponsors and nine media sponsors are supporting the Expo. The corporate sponsors are Galleria at Crystal Run, EAP/SCORE, Mount Saint Mary College, Orange Benefits Partners, and Provident Bank. Media sponsors are: Clear Channel Radio of the Hudson Valley (92.1, Star 93.3, Kiss 96.1, NewsTalk 1450 WKIP and WRWD), FOX 96.7/103.1 & Oldies 1220AM and 98.9FM, HVBiz, Hudson Valley Business Journal, Hudson Valley Parent, MidHudsonNews.com, The Sentinel, the Times Herald-Record, and Times Community Newspapers of the Hudson Valley. A mixer with free hors d'oeuvres and reduced drink prices will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Admission is $5, with all proceeds donated to a local charity. A few booths, at $495 each, are still available.
