Police investigate bomb threat at Warwick Valley High School None found after 90-minute search; school opens on time Warwick - Eleven bomb-sniffing dogs and 18 police cars were the first to arrive at Warwick Valley High School Thursday morning, the result of a bomb threat found on a graphic calculator Wednesday afternoon. Dr. Frank Greenhall, superintendent of schools, said a teacher found the calculator at about 2:15 p.m Wednesday in a high school math classroom. A text message on the calculator indicated that a bomb would be in the high school on Thursday and that school officials would not be able to find it. Greenhall said the entire building was swept by police and the dogs from 5 to 6:20 a.m. Thursday. Nothing was found and school opened as scheduled. Greenhall said that while school and police officials did not put a lot of credence into the threat, they had to act. An investigation is now underway to find the culprit. “It is a shame that some students feel it is okay to make threats,” Greenhall said, “but unfortunately it is a reality we cannot escape.”
