BOCES offers students ‘Second Chances'

    Goshen — The Orange-Ulster BOCES Office of Adult and Continuing Education is set to offer a new program called Second Chances, targeted to youth between 16 and 21 years of age who are currently not enrolled in school. This new program will support young people in obtaining their GED, but will also have a component that includes job training, leadership and team building; an integrated curriculum that includes vocational or technical instruction; as well as preparation for internships, classes, workshops and intensive career counseling. The program is geared to enable successful completers to enter into a viable career. The program will be available at the BOCES Middletown Adult Learning Center, 160 Dolson Ave. in the Playtogs Plaza; at the Port Jervis Middle School for 16- and 17-year-olds; and 150 Pike St., Port Jervis for 18- to 21-year-olds.
