GOSHEN — A writing course designed to teach participants the key elements needed when promoting their organizational activities and dealing with the media will be held this fall at Orange Ulster BOCES in Goshen. Nancy Kriz, the former director of director of communications for Nyack Hospital who now writes for The Photo News and The Warwick Advertiser, will teach “Publicity Writing.” The course is designed for those who are responsible for the publicity function in their daily work activities or as volunteers for their community or civic groups, and have little or no knowledge about dealing effectively with the media. The 10-class session will focus on news release writing techniques and how this factors into successful publicity activities. Registration begins Aug. 13 for the session, which starts Oct. 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the Goshen campus, and costs $95. Registration forms are contained in BOCES’ fall 2007 course catalog or online at: www.ocboces.org. For additional information, call 845-781-6715.
