Black Dirt Dancers take a bite out of The Big Apple

Twelve dancers from Black Dirt Dance Company in Pine Island danced at Abron’s Art Center in Manhattan’s Lower East Side on Saturday, Nov. 10. “I like to challenge my dancers by giving them venues to perform in outside of Orange County,” said Eve McClanahan, director of Black Dirt Dance. “It gives them a taste of what a professional career in dance is like and teaches them to follow their heart. We danced to a full house and the audience was riveted as we presented our work. The girls who danced were Lisa Albornoz, Alanna Dickten, Leah Giles, Nicole Gozza, Anna Greenblatt, Katie Gulak, Jaclyn Lawrence, Eve McClanahan, Elizabeth O’Connor, Brianna Perdomo, Claudia Soifer and Elisabeth Stampfel.
