Tuxedo —The Country Roads Bicycle Tour, scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 11, offers several different routes, all beginning and ending at Warwick High School. The non-competitive bike rides end with a picnic banquet, trade show, and live music. The routes, through the towns of Warwick, Chester, Goshen, Minisink, and Waywayanda, and into Sussex County, N.J., range from a ten-mile circuit for children and once-in-a-while riders to a challenging metric century through rolling farmland and over forested ridges. Along the way, riders will refuel at rest stops stocked with fresh fruit, sandwiches, and cookies or cakes. The Orange County Bicycle Club sponsors the annual tour. Registration fees cover route plans, mechanical support, rest stops, banquet, entertainment, and a choice of t-shirt or cycling socks. Registration is $30 in advance, $35 on the day of the event, and $15 for children under 12. Proceeds from the tour will benefit a memorial education fund for the three children of Warwick's Sharon Giannino, who died in an accident in 2003.
