Bear Mountain Skating Rink to Open Oct. 15

Bear Mountain — The 2011-2012 ice skating season at Bear Mountain State Park officially begins Nov. 5, but the rink opens on October weekends beginning Oct. 15, weather permitting. The October sessions will be held on Saturdays and Sundays from 4-5:30 p.m. and 6-7:30 p.m. From Nov. 5 through March 4, the rink will be open for morning and afternoon sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays; evening sessions on Fridays; and all day and evening sessions on weekends. The rink is outdoors and uncovered. Lockers, refreshments, skate rentals and skate sharpening services are available. The fee schedule per session is as follows: $4/adults ($5 after 6 p.m.); $3/children 4-11 ($4 after 6 p.m.); $2/non-skaters and seniors. Children 3 and under are free.
