Barbara Moore elected mayor of Greenwood Lake

Sheffield, Widmer win trustee races in GWL; Pierce, Jarocki win in Florida Here are the results from Tuesday’s village elections. There were no contests in the Village of Warwick. Greenwood Lake Village Trustee Barbara Moore will become mayor next month following her victory against Frank Conti in Tuesday’s village election. Her running mates, David Sheffield and Philip Widmer, also won seats to the Village Board, defeating Ann Marie Van Doran Sabarese and John Maceda. Moore has been a trustee in the village for four years-- first from 2001 to 2003 when she also served as deputy mayor; then again from 2005 to the present. Conti challenged outgoing mayor, Bill Morris, two years ago but fell short by just 14 votes. This time it wasn’t as close. Moore garnered 415 votes to Conti’s 339. Both trustee seats in Greenwood Lake were open, as Moore looked to the mayoralty and William Sahler did not seek reelection. Political newcomers Sheffield and Widmer will take those seats in April.
