WARWICK n Net proceeds from the 36th annual St. Anthony Community Hospital Auxiliary (SACHA) June Party - $19,000 - will be used for the purchase of special equipment for Schervier Pavilion and Mount Alverno Center. Schervier Pavilion, a skilled nursing facility, and Mount Alverno, an adult home and assisted living facility, share the Bon Secours Charity Health System’s Warwick Campus with St. Anthony Community Hospital. On Aug. 21, SACHA hosted its “Annual Dessert Social” in the Greenbriar Room at Mount Alverno Center. During the occasion the SACHA Board of Directors presented Michael Deyo, administrator of Schervier Pavilion, and Lisa Fedorka, administrator of Mount Alverno Center, with two donations. Schervier Pavilion received $15,000 toward the purchase of six patient lifts that can be used to help make transfers in safety and comfort. The hydraulic lifts allow a much smaller person to lift and transfer a patient with ease and will be available in three units at Schervier Pavilion. Mount Alverno Center received $4,000 for benches and additional seating in the halls and other areas throughout the facility. Senior residents will have more opportunities to relax and rest for a few minutes when traveling from one part of the facility to another. “Our members,” said SACHA Membership Chair Hakimah Al Zahra, “work very hard on our annual June Party events. But all our time and effort was worthwhile this year because of the equipment we were able to purchase for Schervier Pavilion and Mount Alverno Center. We wish to thank all our sponsors, the donors, our committees and all our committee chairs and volunteers.” The major sponsors of this year’s June Party were Gold Sponsors Dr. and Mrs. Appel, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Laskow and Provident Bank. Silver Sponsors were Regional EMS, Orchard Grove Animal Hospital and Drs. Raspa and Schenkman. Underwriters were Rockport Kitchen and Bath, Dr. Beth Louis and Orange Pathology. Major supporters were Nina and Al Lewis and Nancy Brenner DeAngelo.
