    Florida - Here’s a preview of upcoming programs at the Florida Public Library. For additional information, call the library at 651-7659 or visit online at www.rcls.org/fpl. • Friday, Feb. 2 Registration is ongoing for toddler, preschool, elementary and young adult programs at the Florida Public Library. • Saturday, Feb. 3 Kids in grades K - 5 can celebrate the Chinese New Year - year of the pig - at 2 p.m. Meet the Chinese zodiac, craft a new year’s decoration, play chien tung, a game of fortune sticks, and hear Chinese tales. Call the library to register. • Sunday, Feb. 4 All Things Chocolate at the Florida Public Library for adults only at 2 p.m. Make specialty chocolates and chocolate dipped fruits as well as chocolate candies in a variety of molds. Space is limited; call to register. • Tuesday, Feb. 6 Children in grades K-5 are invited to the Winter Classics Stories program at the library at 4 p.m. In observation of the Chinese New Year, the year of the pig, storyteller Anne Hanson will enchant with Chinese Tales and Pig Tales. No registration is necessary. • Tuesday, Feb. 6 Introduction to Graphic Novels for young adults in grade 6 and up starts at 6:30 p.m. Insights into the Printz prize-winner, American-Born Chinese, by Gene Luen Yang; Japanese Manga, too. Call to register. • Wednesday, Feb. 7 Rhymetime for toddlers 18-35 months old with a parent or caregiver begins at 10 a.m. Books, stories, songs, games and a simple craft. Call the library to register for Wednesday or Thursday programs. Storytime for preschoolers age 3-5 years old “on their own” begins also begins Feb. 7. Books, rhymes, music and crafts. Call to register for Wednesday or Thursday programs. • Wednesday, Feb. 7 In honor of Black History Month, the Florida Public Library will welcome Lt. Col. Glendon Fraser, president of the local chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, at 6:30 p.m. Teens and adults, seniors, veterans and community members are encouraged to attend this free program and learn the important history of the first black military pilots of the United States Army Air Corps in World War II. Call to register. • Saturday, Feb. 10 Florida Public Library will host The Princeton Review’s Practice SAT Test from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for all teens who will be taking the SAT exam. Call the library to reserve your seat. Results will be returned and discussed on Sunday, Feb. 25. • Sunday, Feb. 11 Attend a defensive driving course at the Florida Public Library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $50 and includes a pizza lunch.
