Architectural Review Board expands to 7

Warwick — The Town of Warwick received so many volunteers for the openings on the Architectural Review Board, it expanded the board. The board usually has five members, but Supervisor Michael Sweeton said he has received interest from “about a dozen qualified applicants.” So, the Town Board responded by adding two members to the board. Sweeton said he doesn’t know why there is now so much interest in the ARB, but he’s not complaining. The ARB reviews subdivisions that are in the planning stages, making sure they are built with respect to the architecture of the area. The ARB also looks at the colors being used, the lighting, and that not all of the homes are similar. Much of the criteria is included in the zoning, Sweeton said.
