April 21 Earth Day events planned throughout Warwick

Warwick A 2007 County Earth Day event is planned for Saturday, April 21 in Warwick. The Earth Day Event will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in two locations: the Warwick Middle School and the Rogowski Farm in Pine Island/Warwick. At the middle school, there will be a Global Warming Forum with several speakers discussing our impact on global warming, and local and regional solutions to global warming. The event will include the “Inconvenient Truth” slide show, a Green Home discussion and slide show, and an overview of Solar and Geothermal initiatives in New York State, along with Warwick schools’ energy conservation efforts. A look at Will Steger’s Polar Global Warming Research Expedition will also be featured. Scattered between both locations, attendees can enjoy green exhibits, two “Kids Village’s” with tons of activities for kids of all ages: a tree planting in Pine Island, craft and business vendors, voting for the earth day poster contest winner, Community Supported Agriculture demonstrations, organic cooking demonstrations, book signings, and more. A barn dance will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Rogowski Farm. The featured band, Glory Bound, will play country, rock and bluegrass music. A buffet dinner will be served ($5 for children, $12 for adults), including organic wine and beer.
