Apple picking causes traffic delays

WARWICK - ”This must be some sort of record,” commented one observer. On Sunday afternoon, Oct. 8, blue skies and moderate temperatures inspired apple pickers and other day-trippers from throughout the Metropolitan area to pack up and head for Warwick. As late as 3 p.m. traffic along Route 17A was stop and go, bumper to bumper, from Greenwood Lake and beyond to the Village of Warwick. Fortunately, most local residents know how to thread their way around the area using back roads.
