Warwick — Once again it’s, “Lights, camera action!” in the Town of Warwick. Last August it was, “Summer at Dog Dave’s,” directed by Rob Reiner and starring Morgan Freeman, Keenan Johnson and Virginia Madsen. Now, a new feature film, “Franny,” is being filmed on location in Warwick and Greenwood Lake through Nov. 28. The film tells the story on a young woman - Franny - who finds love and a way out of her small town in a decidedly different way. The movie is directed by Ash Christian, who worked this past summer with Reiner and starred opposite Freeman and Madsen in “Summer at Dog Dave’s,” filmed in Greenwood Lake. Christian also produced the three-time Tony Award winning “Next to Normal,” which had a successful run at the Booth Theater. The show won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. He also wrote, directed and starred in, “Fat Girls,” which had its world premiere at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival. The cast of actors include Steve Howey from the popular TV show, “Shameless,” Frances Fisher, who had a major role in “Titanic,” Jen Ponton (Franny), whose credits include the TV series “Law and Order,” and Annaleigh Ashford who has appeared in “Legally Blonde,” and “Sex and the City.” Unlike “Summer at Dog Dave’s,” the producers of “Franny,” do not plan to request any road closings or create any significant inconvenience for residents. - Roger Gavan So you want to be in the movies Local extras, interns and production assistants are needed by the creators of the movie, “Fanny,” which is being filmed on locations in and around Warwick through Nov. 28.
