American Red Cross offers safety classes
Goshen October safety and preparedness classes sponsored by the American Red Cross in Greater New York - Orange/Sullivan will be held at the organization’s Goshen office at 55 Main St. Class dates and times are subject to change. Upcoming Red Cross classes at the Goshen office include: Thursday, Oct. 18, CPR/AED (automated external defibrillator) n Adult, 9 a.m. n 2 p.m. Cost is $65. Thursday, Oct. 18, standard first aid, 2:30 n 6:30 p.m. Cost is $60. Monday, Oct. 29, CPR/AED n Adult, 5 - 10 p.m. Cost is $65. An upcoming Red Cross class for professional rescuers (nurse, lifeguard, flight attendant, firefighter, law enforcement, EMS) will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 9: CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, from 9 a.m. n 6 p.m. Cost is $110. The American Red Cross in Greater New York helps the nine million people in New York City and Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Sullivan counties prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. It provides immediate aid to more than 100,000 people affected by 3,000 emergencies a year, including fires, floods, building collapses and blackouts. The chapter also helps New York residents and businesses prepare for emergencies by offering hundreds of courses in first aid, CPR and aquatics and free emergency preparedness training programs and resources.
