Warwick - The following is a list of upcoming programs for teens and children at Albert Wisner Public Library: Pre-school programs Registration forms are available in the Children’s Room. Notification is by postcard. Mother Goose: Ages 10 18 months. Read stories, sing songs, fingerplays. Choose one day: Wednesday, Jan. 16 Feb. 27, 11:15-11:40 a.m. Thursdays, Jan. 17 Feb. 28, 11:15-11:40 a.m. Toddler Time: 18-36 months. A program for toddlers and a parent or guardian. Toddlers will be introduced to the world of books through stories, fingerplays and songs. Choose one day: Tuesdays, Jan. 15 Feb. 26, 10-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16 Feb. 27, 10-10:30 a.m. Thursdays, Jan. 17 Feb. 28, 10-10:30 a.m. Fridays, Jan. 18 Feb. 29, 10-10:30 a.m. Note bene: 11:15 a.m. on Jan. 25 and 29. One of the classes will have a special music program with Melinda Burgard of Melinda’s Music. Pre-school storytime (for children 3-5 ) This storytime includes books, fingerplays, songs and a fun craft. Choose one day: Tuesdays, Jan. 15 Feb. 26, 11:15 a.m. to noon. Tuesdays, Jan. 15 Feb. 26, 1:30-2:15 p.m. Fridays, Jan. 18-Feb. 29, 1:30-2:15 p.m. Saturday morning craft time Stop in on Saturday mornings between 10 a.m. and noon and create a fun craft to take home. Craft will take about 20 minutes to complete. Saturdays, January 19 through March 1. Special programs Lego Madness Bring a bag of your Legos, big or small and build any kind of structure you can imagine. Every entry wins a prize. Saturday, Jan. 19 at 1:30 p.m. Grades K-5. Quilt-style magnets Through the book, “Show Way,” we will explore the significance and tradition of quilts in African-American history. We will then make a quilt pattern-type magnet from paper and foam board. Monday, Jan. 21 at 3:30 p.m. Grades 2-5. Celebrate Chinese New Year Welcome the Year of the Rat with stories, a craft and some food. Thursday, Feb. 7, at 4:15-5 p.m. Grades K-3. Valentine Party. Stories, crafts and a chocolate gift for someone special. Saturday, Feb. 9 at 1:30 p.m. Grades K-3. Books-to-Movies First read the funny “Wayside School is Falling Down,” then come to the library and talk about the book and see the animated movie. Movie and discussion Saturday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. Grades 2-5. Flat Stanley He may be only a half inch thick, but he’s a hero! Read one of his adventures and make a Flat Stanley of your own. Then, take him to one of Warwick’s historic or beautiful spots and take a picture. E-mail it to us and we will display all the pictures at the library. Tuesday, March 4, at 4:15 p.m. Grades K-3. Spring craft Celebrate sporing by making a simple craft. Thursday, March 13, at 4:15-5 p.m. Grades 2-5. Programs for teens Teen winter reading program and lift ticket raffle Relax and read, then hit the slopes. Teens may fill out a raffle ticket for every book they check out. Every ticket entered increases your chances of winning a full-day ski or snowboarding lift ticket at Mt. Peter. Drawings on Jan. 15 and 31 and Feb. 15 and 29. Teen advisory board Meets Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. in the library. Teens ages 12-18 are welcome to join the teen advisory board, which meets regularly to discuss ideas for teen programs and materials. Kickboxing for teens Jan. 16, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Chosun Taekwondo Academy, 62 Main St. Teens, set aside homework and try an upbeat, fast-paced cardio routine based on the martial arts.
