Warwick — The library is offering patrons and friends an opportunity to support the library with a donation to the Albert Wisner Public Library 2005 Annual Appeal. Contributions will go toward increasing the library’s collection and enhancing and adding programs and technological improvements, and is separate from the library’s efforts for a new building. The library strives to meet the needs and demands of a growing community with professional staff, varied resources and a dedication to service. Last year’s appeal raised more than $10,000 and enabled the library to: •Upgrade three public internet-connected computers. •Add “Learn A Test” software which features practice tests for SAT, Civil Service, GRE, Real Estate and other specialties. •Offer a “Mother Goose Storytime” for children from 10 to 24 months, and their parents and host other quality children and adult storytelling programs. •Add more than 300 DVD’s, music CD’s and books on cassette or CD. •Support the “Warwick Children’s Book Festival” which brought more than 1,000 children and their families to Stanley Deming Park to meet more than 50 children’s book authors and illustrators. •Purchase a magazine rack for teen magazines, and slat wall end-panels to expand shelving and display area in the library. This year donors are being given the opportunity to “Buy A Chair” for the library. The current chairs at the library are in poor condition and need to be replaced. The first thirty-five contributors who make a donation of $150 for a new chair will receive a donor plaque for the chair as well. These chairs will be well used today and in a new library. All other money raised will be used toward enhancing current programs, collections, technology and services. Friends who interested making a contribution to the Albert Wisner Public Library 2005 Annual Appeal may pick up a donation packet at the library or on the library’s website www.albertwisnerlibrary.org.
