WARWICK—This summer, the Albert Wisner Library is more than just a place to check out books. Only a few weeks into the summer and the Library’s Children’s Room has already hosted several storytimes, crafts and a weekly chess class. Stretch the Silly Man, who entertained with stories, music, magic and puppets, generated so much interest that the program had to be held at the Methodist Church to accommodate as many children and parents as possible. Although most programs and events are full (See At the Libraries section on page XXX) there are still openings for Dinoman on July 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Methodist Church. A program for grades 2 through 5, children will learn about dinosaurs from a real paleontologist. Sign ups are also being taken for the Summer Reading Club. This program is open to all children in the Warwick Valley School District, preschool through fifth grade. They receive an “Official Reading Record” to record the titles they read or have read to them. Every week they show the Reading Record to the librarian in the Children’s Department, have it stamped and receive a prize, including a free book from the special summer collection.
