Albert Wisner library budget vote set for April 24
Warwick - Residents in the Warwick Valley School District will vote Tuesday, April 24, on the Albert Wisner Public Library’s proposed 2007-08 budget. Voting takes place at the library from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Voters will cast ballots for a proposed tax levy of $790,000 and one Library Trustee. Margaret Bogdanski is running unopposed for the vacant trustee position. The proposed tax levy is an additional $36,385, or a 4.8 percent increase more than last year. Copies of the proposed budget are available at the library. The proposed library tax rates are estimated at $2.11 per $1,000 of assessed value Town of Warwick portion of the Warwick Valley School District and at 51 cents per $1,000 of assessed value in the Town of Chester portion of Warwick school district. Bogdanski, a first grade teacher in the Middletown School District, has served on the Albert Wisner Public Library Board for ore than 25 years. She said she is “proud to play a part in the expansion of library programs and services that a new facility will bring to the community.”
